Vintage Borghese Plaster Figurines
Item Details
A pair of vintage Borghese plaster figurines. Each rises on a square base with embossed name and gilt eagles. They are clad in the uniform of ranking French military officials during the Napoleonic era. They bear a sticker to the underside: ‘109’ and the Borghese logo. These figures depict Michel Ney and François Christophe Kellermann, who served in both the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic wars. Kellerman’s hand-in-waistcoat is indicative of both his leadership role and status as a Freemason.
Condition
- intentionally distressed finish to each piece; gentle wear throughout.
