A plaster painting on board titled The Doge’s Palace by well-listed French artist Jacques Lamy (1946-2016). This work features a truncated view of the Doge’s Palace facade, portrayed with thick loose brushstrokes and a rough textural surface throughout the composition. The work is signed to the lower right and to the verso; present to the verso is a Certificate of Authenticity, a descriptive label, and the handwritten title. The composition is presented in a black composite frame.
Jacques Lamy was born in France near the Loire Valley in 1946. He received his formal artist training at Ecole Nationale Superieur des Arts Decoratifs in Paris. Lamy worked as an artist, designer and art teacher allowing him to travel to Spain, Africa, and the United States. His work is housed in instructions such as Musee D’Art Roger Quillot, France and the Jesuit Art Museum in Dallas, Texas.
