A plaster painting on board of a floral still life by well-listed French artist Jacques Lamy (1946-2016). Portrayed with rough textural impasto, this work features an arrangement of colorful abstracted flowers in a bulbous vase, set against a salmon-colored background. The work is signed to the lower left. It is presented in a black painted shadow-box style wood frame.
Jacques Lamy was born in France near the Loire Valley in 1946. He received his formal artist training at Ecole Nationale Superieur des Arts Decoratifs in Paris. Lamy worked as an artist, designer and art teacher allowing him to travel to Spain, Africa, and the United States. His work is housed in instructions such as Musee D’Art Roger Quillot, France and the Jesuit Art Museum in Dallas, Texas.
