A plaster painting on wood board of a still-life by listed, French artist Jacques Lamy (1946-2016). This painting features a still-life of a vase of flowers rendered with incised linework and forced craquelure. It is signed to the lower right edge and to the verso. This painting remains unframed.
Jacques Lamy was born in France near the Loire Valley in 1946. He received his formal artist training at Ecole Nationale Superieur des Arts Decoratifs in Paris. Lamy worked as an artist, designer, and art teacher allowing him to travel to Spain, Africa, and the United States. His work is housed in institutions such as the Musee D’Art Roger in Quillot, France and the Jesuit Art Museum in Dallas, Texas.
