A mixed media composition on board by Jacques Lamy (France; 1946-2016). The work depicts an abstracted potted tree with paint, woven fabric, and textured board. Signed in paint to the bottom of the image. Presented in a wooden frame without glass. To the verso, a gallery label is attached and an additional label is attached to the hanging wire.
Jacques Lamy was born in France near the Loire Valley in 1946. He received his formal artist training at Ecole Nationale Superieur des Arts Decoratifs in Paris. Lamy worked as an artist, designer, and art teacher allowing him to travel to Spain, Africa, and the United States. His work is housed in institutions such as the Musee D’Art Roger in Quillot, France and the Jesuit Art Museum in Dallas, Texas.
