A mixed media composition on board of a flowering tree by listed, French artist Jacques Lamy (1946-2016). This work features a single tree blooming with yellow flowers, lush green leaves and a thin trunk painted on fabric. Signed in paint to the lower right corner. Presented in a decorative wood frame without glass and a wire hanger to verso.
Jacques Lamy was born in France near the Loire Valley in 1946. He received his formal artist training at Ecole Nationale Superieur des Arts Decoratifs in Paris. Lamy worked as an artist, designer, and art teacher allowing him to travel to Spain, Africa, and the United States. His work is housed in institutions such as the Musee D’Art Roger in Quillot, France and the Jesuit Art Museum in Dallas, Texas.
