A wooden box with a floral design painted by Jacques Lamy (France; 1946-2016). The work depicts vibrant red and yellow flowers contrasted by cool green and blue foliage covering the outside of a wooden box. Signed to the base of the work in paint. Presented freestanding with a painted interior.

Jacques Lamy was born in France near the Loire Valley in 1946. He received his formal artist training at Ecole Nationale Superieur des Arts Decoratifs in Paris. Lamy worked as an artist, designer, and art teacher allowing him to travel to Spain, Africa, and the United States. His work is housed in institutions such as the Musee D’Art Roger in Quillot, France and the Jesuit Art Museum in Dallas, Texas.

Condition

- some wear around the edges of the box; some scratches to the outside of the lid; to the bottom, scratches and paint marks; the inside of the piece is stained and could benefit from a cleaning.
