A wooden box with stars painted by Jacques Lamy (France; 1946-2016). The work depicts stars and organic shapes on the wooden box with vibrant red tones contrasted with blue and white pigments. Signed to the base of the work in paint. Presented freestanding.
Jacques Lamy was born in France near the Loire Valley in 1946. He received his formal artist training at Ecole Nationale Superieur des Arts Decoratifs in Paris. Lamy worked as an artist, designer, and art teacher allowing him to travel to Spain, Africa, and the United States. His work is housed in institutions such as the Musee D’Art Roger in Quillot, France and the Jesuit Art Museum in Dallas, Texas.
Condition
- some wear and chipping to the edges of the box; scratches and nicks to the back of the work; inside of the box could benefit from a cleaning; fixtures are loose.
