African Style Carved Table

An African style carved table. This piece is constructed with a circular disc resting into a basket style frame with raised figural mount supports bisecting each other in a linear design with interlocked and carved center. The table supports lead into splay legs ending in notched feet. The table top is carved in figural relief in the style of traditional Malawi carving. The panel shows things important in the Malawi way of life: men working in a village, water and fish. The panel has carving on both sides and is reversible.

- marks near feet and legs of table; light cracks on tabletop.
