A hand-knotted Chinese or Indian Persian-style wool area rug. The rug features crisply rendered large palmettes and cloud band forms in a palette of tan, blue and red against a black field. It has modified herati guard borders flanking a wide primary band of lotus flowers and herati with delicate vine work in deep ruby, taupes, and ecru on a rust-colored field. The rug is banded in black and has overcast edges with long, dense cotton warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
