Lorence F. Bjorklund Ink Illustration on Paperboard "Gun Hand of Truchas Basin"
Item Details
An ink illustration on paperboard titled Gun Hand of Truchas Basin by well-listed Minnesotan Western genre artist Lorence F. Bjorklund (1911 – 1978), created in 1941. This drawing is initialed by hand in ink to the lower left. Artist’s estate stamp is included to the verso. Illegible handwritten inscriptions including the title and date ‘8/23/4,’ are written in graphite to the lower right, and the illustration is numbered “25,” to the lower left. An enumeration is inscribed on a label adhered to the lower right. Additionally, titled in graphite to the verso, where several other numerical notes are also written. A stamp from ‘Joseph Torch/ Artist Materials,’ is affixed to the verso. The drawing is presented without matting or framing. Bjorklund studied under Nick Eggenhofer and illustrated over 300 books.
Condition
- toning, stains, minor foxing throughout composition; slightly bent corners, water stains, toning and wear specially around the edges of paperboard.
