A signed 1945 oil and watercolor portrait on paper titled Le Pecheur by listed American artist Albert Wasserman (New York; 1920 – 2017). This portrait depicts a seated figure in work clothes and a cap against a background of machinery under a blue sky. This piece is executed in a loose painterly style including both transparent washes of watercolor and more detailed, thicker passages of oil toward the upper portion of the composition. This portrait was painted while the artist was a soldier in WWI. It is dated October 1, 1945, Biarritz and signed to the lower right and titled to the lower left. It is presented behind glass and in a gold-tone composite frame. The verso of this piece is equipped to hang.
