A five-pieced collection of sterling silver and sterling handle utensils. This includes a tablespoon from 1779 by London silversmiths William Sumner & Richard Crossley, who worked together from 1775 to 1782. It features an engraved handle and is stamped to the back with the ‘WSRC’ maker’s mark alongside three hallmarks of the lion passant for sterling, the crowned leopard’s head for London, and ‘d’ for 1779. It is presented with a sterling handle cheese scoop from 1945 by Sheffield silversmith John Biggin, a relish fork in the Repoussé pattern by Kirk & Son Inc., a Web sterling handle letter opener, and a sterling handle cake breaker by Frank M. Whiting Co. Each is marked for sterling fineness. The total approximate weight for the tablespoon and relish fork is 3.855 ozt.
