Item Details

A pair of L. Hitchcock turtle back parlor chairs, after circa 1946. Produced by Hitchcock, these black painted chairs feature a lustrous foliate and urn stenciled painted design across the oval horizontal splat, top rail and lower seat. It includes yellow ochre accent striping, a rush seat, and gold tone leg banding on the spindle legs. Stenciled along the rear seat rail reads “L.HITCHCOCK. HITCHCOCKS-VILLE. CONN. WARRANTED’ with backwards Ns.
