Pair of Antique Travel Writing Desks on Stands
Item Details
A pair of antique travel writing desks, on stands. These veneered boxes have slanted openings, the lid folding all the way back Inside they each have an inlaid writing surface with storage underneath, and a storage space for writing instruments and for an ink bottle to one side. They each have a circular escutcheon to the front, and metal hardware throughout. The larger desk has a top inlay of various woods forming geometric borders around a center diamond shape. The stands hold the desks in the open position, each fitted into the top, over plain aprons and tapered block legs.
