An antique English mahogany rolltop desk. This mahogany and mahogany veneer roll top office desk with oak secondary wood, dates from the middle third of the 19th century. The desk has two veneered drawers above the roll top with a locking mechanism between the two drawers to secure the roll top, below this is the louvered roll top with two turned knobs at the bottom edge to lift and close the unlock top. Inside the roll top is a pull out writing surface inset with green baize; and above the surface are four drawers with small solid brass knobs, two drawers on either side of a central door flanked on each side by a cubby hole. The scalolped apron contains two veneered drawers with the entire case on turned legs in a late Sheraton manner. All eight drawers are hand dovetailed as is the rear board of the desk into the sides. Condition

- old powder post beetle damage to right rear of desk, crack ti front apron, loose molding right rear, veneer chip to corner of lower right drawer of fitted interior, green baize needs replacement, other scuffs chips, cracks and bumps overall.
