Item Details

A watercolor on paper of an arquitectural scene by listed Ohio artist Robert Herrmann (1922-1996), created in 1989. The painting depicts an architectural scene rendered in the artist’s signature precisionism style with tall buildings delineated against a blue sky. The watercolor is initialed in the lower right corner. The name of the artist is written to the verso. Presented within white matting and wrapped in acetate.

Herrmann acquired his formal artistic and architectural training at the University of Cincinnati, University of Wisconsin, Ohio State University, University of Iowa, and Columbia University. While professionally trained, he chose to never exhibit his work publicly, making his first solo exhibit posthumous.
