Russian Black Lacquer Boxes
Item Details
A pair of miniature Russian back lacquer wooden trinket boxes. One box is rectangular in shape with a glossy black finish and a hand-painted Russian horse-drawn sled scene; marked ‘N. Naaex, Tllpoika, M.H.’ in gold-tone along the bottom margin of the illustration. The other box is oval-shaped with an illustration of a young woman with a basket in a forest at night; it is marked ‘Made in USSR’ to underside.
