East Asian Gouache Painting of Flowers
Item Details
An East Asian rendering of flowers, believed to be gouache and watercolor on paper. This work depicts what appears to be a poppy and a white chrysanthemum against a neutrally-toned ground, both flowers rising upwards toward the sun. This piece is marked with calligraphic text and a red signature seal toward its lower right, and is heavily-matted under glass in a distressed wooden frame that is wired for hanging.
Condition
- tearing to upper and lower edges; marks from previously being taped; frame corners do not meet evenly; wear to frame, mostly appears to be intentional.
