A Karastan Kirman style Medallion power-loomed wool area rug. The rug features a central lobed medallion with pendants worked in shades of ecru, taupe, pink, green, red, peach, green, brown, and blue which stands out against a field of rich ruby red. The field is enclosed by a compound border that features an intricate floral pattern with large palmettes throughout woven in the same palette as the medallion. The rug has an overcast edge with a fringe to either end. It is marked to the back “Karastan, Kirman” and there is a care label attached.
