Chinese Woven Wall Hangings
Item Details
A pair of Chinese woven wall hangings. Included is a piece depicting a city street alongside a canal with a single boat being rowed by. It has an attached fringe at the bottom and text woven in on the right side reading ‘China: Hunan Province Jishou (City) University’ (中国: 湖南吉首大学). The second piece depicts a group of figures in the midst of a dance while wearing colorful clothing. The main image is surrounded with a white border containing red text to the lower center reading ‘The School Board of Hunan Province, China’ (中国湖南省教育委员会)’. Both pieces are lined with white fabric that has loops along the top for hanging.
