Early 20th Century Barbour Silver Plate Cigarette Box With Dutch Designs

Item Details

An early 20th Century silver plate cigarette box by the Barbour Silver Co., as a subsidiary of the International Silver Co. This hinged box features Dutch vignettes bordered by scrolling foliates in shallow relief. The interior is lined in cedar and has a gold wash to the interior lid. The box rests on four small feet. It is marked underneath “Barbour S.P Co International S. Co” in a banner, then the windmill and two pipe maker’s mark for Barbour, and shape number 3949.

Condition

- tarnish and surface wear to the base and the interior of the box.
