A hand-knotted Persian Tabriz area rug. The rug features a central floral medallion in a palette of cream, black, taupe, sage green, and powder blue on a dark red field. The field is populated by floral and lancet leave patterns with embellished spandrels filled with florals and lancet leaves. The field is enclosed by a compound border that features a herati style pattern in a complementary palette with a dark grey field. It has an overcast edge and a short fringe to either end. It is tagged to the back ‘Made in Iran, Handwoven’
