An original watercolor painting on wove paper by well-listed Cincinnati-based genre artist Robert Fabe (1917 – 2004). The painting depicts a lighthouse standing at the top of a rocky coastal hill dotted with waving grasses. Deep teal water fades into the right margin. The painting is completed in Fabe’s signature melancholy color palette, featuring muted blues, grays, and greens. The painting is signed in ink to the lower right. It is double-matted in beige and white and is presented behind glass in a gray tone wooden frame with a hanging wire attached to the verso, along with a biography of the artist.
