Louis Cardin Original Enamel Painting on Copper
Item Details
An original enamel on copper painting by reputed French artist Louis Cardin (born 1931). Cardin creates bright scenes of children playing using kiln-fired enamel pigments over copper, often with a loosely splattered surface texture. This long, panoramic view depicts two children, a dog, and a red butterfly playing in a field coated in vivid wildflowers. The piece is signed to the lower right. It is presented in a wooden frame with cast surface embellishments, bronze tone finish, white linen lining, a gold tone fillet, and a hanging wire. Cardin was a student of very well-listed French Cubist Andre L’ Hote (1885 – 1962).
