Antique American Ormolu Mantel Clock
Item Details
An antique circa 1890-1900 American cast-iron mantel clock with gilded details. The face and works are supported by a pair of ormolu winged griffins and a lyre. They are capped by a lion mask supported by scrolled Renaissance-inspired details. The Roman numerals appear to be enamel on metal and the black hands are filigreed. The works have been inscribed in script by hand on the back, perhaps noting cleaning or repairs. This clock has not been tested.
