An original watercolor and gouache painting on paper by Chinese artist Won Tai. A gnarled tree with blooms and seed pods filling the branches is silhouetted against a simple rich gold tone background. Three large blooms in light blue sprout from the ground beneath the tree. Two birds, rendered in detailed line work with washes of color, appear to be pecking at the ground in front of the blooms as a smaller bird flies overhead. The surrounding land is depicted in dots of green, creating an energetic pattern to the lower edge of the composition. This piece is unsigned. Presented behind a thick beige mat, under acrylic glass in a gold tone wood frame. It is ready to hang with a wire. Two labels from the Miller Gallery in Cincinnati, Ohio are present to the verso, one stating the artist’s name and country.
