Two Navajo style sand paintings on board attributed to Elise Y. Watchman. These paintings are created from the natural colors of various types of sand. Each depicts a solitary figure, one male and one female, rendered in simple lines and geometric shapes. A label is present to the verso of the female figure with the artist’s name, medium and the title Holy Girl. The verso of the male figure is marked with the artist’s name faintly in graphite. Each is presented in a stained dark brown wood frame with a black liner and a wire hanger.
Condition
- the board are loose in the frames. Abrasion and wear to each frame. Separation to joins to each frame.

- measures each frame. Each visible image measures 7.5" W x 15.75" H.
