Item Details

An antique burl wood jewelry box having an applied figural carving to the top. It features burl wood panels, beaded trim to the scalloped edges, and an ornately carved escutcheon with key. The lined interior features three small recessed compartments.

Condition

- overall minor marks; craquelure to the burl wood veneer consistent with age; stains, soiling, and wear to the interior; incised series of numbers to the worn felted underside; the key is included, but the lock did not appear to work when tested.
