Antique Cast Metal Lidded Compote

Item Details

An antique cast metal lidded compote. This spelter vessel features a grape bunch finial to the domed lid that is adorned with grape leaves in bas relief. The bowl features scrolled handles, an applied grape and leaf motif to the circumference, and a round pedestal base. It is unmarked by the manufacturer.

Condition

- aged patina; bent finial; overall minor markings; engraved series of numbers to the lid interior; very worn felt to the base.
