Item Details

A signed exhibition poster on paper with a reproduction offset lithograph after a 1999 original oil painting on canvas titled Boy With Sailor Cap by well-listed artist Bob Guccione (American, 1930-2010). The exhibition poster advertises a solo exhibition of Guccione’s art from February 27 to March 10, 1993, at the Shambala Preserve, Squash Blossom Gallery, California. The print is signed by Guccione in graphite to the lower right. Presented behind glass, housed in gilt frame.

Bob Guccione began his artist endeavors during 1949 when he traveled to Italy with basic paint supplies and a few dollars. Despite never receiving formal artist training he premiered his artwork at the Nassau County Museum of Art and the Butler Institute of American Art. Many of his original sketches and painting were created during his time traveling through Rome, Paris, and London during the late 1950s and early 1960s. Later in life, he founded Penthouse Magazine which halted his career as an artist.
