Haitian Style Carved Wooden Mask

Item Details

A Haitian style carved wooden mask. This oblong mask includes stylized facial features, including almond eyes, crooked eyebrows, squat nose and open mouth with a peaked center. The surface has been further gouged to indicate wrinkles, and is selectively painted black to the top. This gives the appearance of a large hat with an abstract motif. To the carved verso is an affixed hook for hanging.
