A mixed media abstract composition on paper by Nicholas Barbieri (American, 1942-2013). The work depicts an abstract scene using ink, black acrylic paint, and glitter. To the verso, the work is stamped by the artist. Presented under glass in a painted black wooden frame.
Nicholas Barbieri is best known for his use of repetitive circular motions in his abstract expressionist style paintings. He received his BFA with honors from Pratt Institute and continued his art education with an MFA at Lehman College. Barbieri’s exploration of the visual relationships and effects of light on form, structure, and space have evolved over his four-decade career. He has participated in many solo and group exhibitions and has his work in many private collections including the Clock Tower Gallery, Empire State Building-5th Avenue Gallery, Hundred Acres Gallery, and in The Hudson River Museum.
