An 1863 Harper’s Weekly engraving after a drawing by Thomas Nast titled A Negro Regiment in Action. It depicts a a regiment of African American soldiers fighting in a raging Civil War battle. The double page print is signed ‘Th. Nast.’ in the plate tot he lower right. Harper’s Weekly is printed to the upper margin and the title is printed to the lower margin. A hand-written label to the upper right reads ‘Harpers Weekly March 14, 1863. Civil War Engraving by Thomas Nast’. The unframed print is housed in a protective plastic sleeve.

Condition

- age darkened and slightly foxed; minor wear to edges.
