A set of ten limited-edition books from the This Heritage Remembered series, published between 1990 and 1999 by Heritage Press of Dallas, Texas. These ten hardcover books in varying sizes and designs are presented together in a wooden display cabinet with individual slots made to specifically accommodate each book. A gold tone plaque at the base of the cabinet reads ‘This Heritage Remembered / 1990 – 1999 / Produced by Heritage Press – Dallas, Texas’, and a stamp on the underside reads ‘Handcrafted by Bob Downs–Dallas, TX.’ The books in the collection are Henry David Thoreau’s Walking, Thomas Paine’s Common Sense, Mark Twain’s The Diaries of Adam and Eve, Virginia Woolf’s A Room of One’s Own, the Sonnets of William Shakespeare, One Dozen Stories by O. Henry, A Selection of Poems by William Butler Yeats, Grimm, Selected Poems of Emily Dickinson, and Charles Dickens’s A Christmas Carol.
