Vintage Dedham Pottery "Rabbit" Stoneware
Item Details
A fourteen piece collection of vintage Dedham Pottery Rabbit stoneware. This group includes five teacups, six saucers, a sugar bowl, creamer, and bowl. Each is decorated with a band of ten crouching rabbits moving in a clockwise circle and finished with a crackled glaze. The rabbit motif was designed by two students at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. The items bear a blue underglaze stamp to the base which reads: ‘Dedham Pottery Registered.’ This mark was used from 1929 until the company dissolved in 1943.
Condition
- sugarbowl has a repaired crack across body and chip to lid; single bowl has a repaired crack across the body and wear to the rim; minor marks of discoloration throughout; intentional crackled glaze.
