Framed Chinese Colored Equestrian Rubbings
Item Details
A pair of framed colored rubbings. Each depicts a pre-modern Chinese equestrian scene on paper. The first print depicts two robed men on horseback, each holding a ribboned staff; one wears a blue robe and rides a galloping horse, while the other’s horse is being asked to stand in place. The second print depicts a man in a blue robe on foot, leading a spirited-looking saddled horse. The background in each scene is white. Neither is signed. Both are presented behind glass in wood frames with gilded trim and with two fretted metal hooks above the frame for hanging. Each has a full wooden backing.
Condition
- there are some minor scratches and scuffs to the frames.
Dimensions
