Hand-Knotted Sino-Persian Area Rug

A hand-knotted Sino-Persian area rug. This wool rug has a color palette of warm tan, black, olive green, coral and ivory. It has a large central medallion with two pendants on a black field patterned with arabesque vines. At all four corners are scalloped brackets and the main border features Shah Abbasi palmettes and curvilinear vines. It has warp fringe to either end and it is not marked, although can likely be attributed to Chinese weavers.
