Eight Antique English Sheraton Style Satinwood Dining Chairs

A set of eight antique English Sheraton style satinwood dining chairs. This set of English dining chairs was created in the late 19th century or very beginning of the 20th century of East Indian Satinwood (Chloroxylon swietenia), an always expensive and increasingly rare wood. These eight shield back chairs, two armchairs and six side chairs, have moulded tapering square legs on spade feet at the front and round curving legs at the back which attach to a wide apron which bows in the front and rounds on the sides and back, the shield frame is fully exposed on the back and connects to the seat above the back legs. Both sides of the back and the seat is covered in a light blue damask fabric. Unmarked.

Condition
- stains on upholstery, one chair missing a piece of molding, small chips at the front corners of some chairs, various scuffs, scratches and rubs overall and one chair leg repaired with a dowel.
