Item Details
A mid century oil painting on canvas board by listed American artist Willis M. Rue (1908 – 1991). The piece depicts the portrait of a young girl seated against a mottled brown background, wearing a pale blue dress decorated with floral and bird patterns. The work is signed in blue paint to the lower left. It is presented without glass in a beveled wooden frame with raised decorative gesso accents, fitted with hanging wire to the verso.
Condition
- small areas of surface wear and scratching to canvas; discoloration and accretion present to painting and frame; minor wear and nicks to frame; tears and discoloration to frame’s backing paper.
