Vintage Reed & Barton "Winthrop" Silver-Plated Coffee and Tea Service

Item Details

A vintage hand chased silver-plated coffee and tea service by Reed & Barton. This eight-pieced set includes a teapot, a coffee pot, a kettle with stand and burner, a creamer, a lidded sugar bowl, a waste bowl, and a tray. Each piece features hand chased decoration of acanthus leaves, shells, and flowers, and items with lids have pumpkin shaped handles. The tea and coffee service is marked to the underside with the 1951 bell date mark, ‘Reed & Barton’, and ‘Winthrop’ along with ‘Hand Chased’. The tray is marked, ‘Reed & Barton Winthrop’ along with what appears to be the date mark for 1954.

Condition

- mild surface wear including marks, scratches, and tarnishing; there is a deep scratch on the side of the coffee pot and a small dent in the sugar bowl; (DCCPLS).
