Antique English George III Mahogany Veneer Chest Of Drawers

Item Details

An antique English George III mahogany veneer chest of drawers. This chest of drawers is veneered and crossbanded in book matched mahogany inlaid with holly. Each of the five drawers, two side by side over three long drawers, is veneered with book matched mahogany edged with holly line inlay all within a crossbanded border, the drawers having engraved brass bat wing plates with bail pulls and horizontal oval escutcheons with every drawer being inside of a border of thick rounded molding. The top of the chest is covered in four book matched pieces of veneer with an overall inlaid motif of three interlocking rings all within a line of holly inlay and a surrounding a border of crossbanded mahogany, with both sides having centered double inlaid rings within a line of holly inlay that follows the rectangular shape of the sides. The entire case rests upon a veneered base with bracket feet. Unmarked
