Semi-Antique Hand-Knotted Persian Sarouk Carpet Runner
Item Details
A semi-antique Persian Sarouk carpet runner. This wool runner is hand-knotted in cornsilk, peach, pink, pale sage, and dark blue, a palette that is unusual for a Sarouk rug. It features a vase design incorporating sprays of flowers, leaves, and vines over a cornsilk-colored field. The field is framed by three meandering-floral borders and an outer guard border in cornsilk. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with long cotton warp fringe. Unlabeled.
