A pair of books from the series Bibliothèque D’histoire Et De Géographie Universelles. The two included titles are L’Empire du Milieu (1900) and La Chine Des Mandarins (1901). Each was written by Albert de PouvourvIlle and published by Librairie C.Reinwald / Schleicher Frères, Editeurs in Paris. The books are quarter bound in brown leather and black pebbled covered boards, have marbled endpapers, five raised bands to the spine, and are gilt lettered and decorated. Each volume is illustrated in black and white throughout the text. A tipped in frontispiece is colored in black, white, and gold.

Condition

- toning, foxing, and wear to the leather are evident
- sewn text blocks are tight and clean of all markings
