An original signed ink and watercolor illustration on paperboard by very well-listed American illustrator Sam Norkin (New York, 1917 – 2011), best-known for his theater sketches. This piece is titled The Big Two and depicts a still from the Broadway show where a happy couple embraces in an interior space. The actors’ names, the piece’s title, and additional formatting notes are hand-written to the piece’s base. The work is signed to the lower right and is presented without matting or framing, awaiting your choice of presentation. Norkin had thousands of illustrations published in the New York Daily News, New York Herald Tribune, Boston Globe, Washington Post, and countless other publications.
Condition
- light discoloration, creasing, and accretion across, particularly to margins. White out has been applied to a few areas of the illustration.
