An original signed ink wash drawing on paper by very well-listed American illustrator Sam Norkin (New York, 1917 – 2011), best-known for his theater sketches. This piece is titled France: Lourdes – Pilgrimage to Bernadette’s Shrine. The monochromatic image depicts figures bowing and praising in a stunning cathedral interior. The work is signed to the lower left and titled to the verso of the matting. It is numbered ‘10’ in graphite to the lower right below the piece’s matting. It is matted in white and presented without framing, awaiting your choice of presentation. Norkin had thousands of illustrations published in the New York Daily News, New York Herald Tribune, Boston Globe, Washington Post, and countless other publications.
