Oxen and Cart

Hand crafted oxen and cart. The ox and cart are constructed of wood. The cart is painted a blue/green color and the oxen are a deep red and white. This piece is similar to a piece in the Gilford Historical Society collection in Gilford, New Hampshire titled ’Yoke of Oxen (1933). Carved and painted by Clarence Thurston.

Condition

There is wear to paint consistent with age. One oxen has wear around right eye.
