A mixed media painting on board titled Lincoln with Golden Basketball by listed, American artist Clintel Steed (born 1977), created in 2013. This work features a regal portrait of Abraham Lincoln gazing up at a deflated gold painted basketball mounted to an embossed metal panel. The panel is framed by pieces of red, silver, and pink foil while Lincoln is surrounded by stars, stripes, and the United States coat of arms. It is signed, dated, and titled to the verso. This painting remains unframed.

Clintel Steed grew up in a predominantly African American and Pentecostal community, which is an evident influence to his paintings. His work is a personal dialogue with African American culture, contemporary politics, and the Biblical struggle between good and evil. Stylistically, much of his work is rendered in thick impasto and expressionistic brushstrokes loosely applied throughout his compositions. He acquired his formal artistic training at the Art Institute of Chicago receiving a BFA in 1999 and his MFA from Indiana University in 2001. During his artistic career, he presented his work in multiple locations including the Indiana University Art Museum, New York Studio School and the National Academy of Design, among others.
