A halftone printed on transparent paper with acrylic embellishments on wood panel titled Still You, Will Love, Her by contemporary artist Justine Fontaine Maury (b. 1988). On a field of pink coated in resin, the work features the black and white bust-lenght portrait of a blonde woman gazing at the viewer with her mouth open. Acrylic embellishments have been applied to the lips, eyelids, and contour of the figure. The image overlaps the bold turquoise letters reading ‘Still You/Will Love/Her’. Signed, titled and illegibly dated by hand in ink to the verso.

Justin Fontaine Maury uses his education in photography and design to create work that uses found objects, paint, and resin. Maury’s work is bright and shocking using enlarged taboo images from vintage adult film posters and classified ads combined with painted backgrounds and bold words. He layers his works with resin to bind the paint to the wooden surface presenting a structural and aesthetic depth. His work can be found in private collections and galleries in the greater New York City area, including the Borghi Fine Art Gallery.
