Patrick Dougher Acrylic Triptych on Canvas of a Pictorial Maxim
Item Details
An acrylic triptych on canvas of a pictorial maxim by Brooklyn artist Patrick Dougher. This triptych features a svelte man illustrating the proverbial principle ‘see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil.’ The man is presented on a layered, off white background and is rendered with blue manganese and red delineated lines emphasizing his muscles. The painting depicting ‘speak no evil’ is signed to the lower right corner. They all remain unframed.
Patrick Dougher is a Brooklyn based artist, musician, and poet. His artwork is a portrayal of African diaspora in America rendered with bold hues and patterns, which is reminiscent of Mickalene Thomas and Kehinde Wiley. He is now the Program Director of Groundswell in NYC, which is a community art project that brings awareness to racial and social justice issues through the work of young artists.
